Music therapy for children and young people
A safe, playful space where children and young people can express themselves, connect with others and grow in confidence, with or without words.
What is music therapy?
Music therapy is an established psychological therapy delivered by a trained, registered therapist. Together we use instruments, voice, rhythm and listening to explore feelings and build relationships. The focus is on the young person's wellbeing, not on learning music.
I've worked as a music therapist since 2011, including more than ten years in NHS child and adolescent mental health services, and in schools for young people with complex additional support needs. I trained at Queen Margaret University (MSc Music Therapy, Nordoff-Robbins).
Music therapists are regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). My registration number is , which you can check on the HCPC register.
